KEYBOARD
The keyboard is an input device used in computers, typewriters, and other devices. It is the most commonly used input device and is composed of a set of keys that represent letters, symbols, numbers, and other characters. The keyboard is used to enter data into the computer, as well as to control the system.
The keys are typically arranged in a standard QWERTY layout, which is used by most keyboards. This layout is designed to make typing easier and more efficient. A typical keyboard has between 101 and 104 keys, depending on the model and manufacturer. The most common keys are the alphanumeric keys, which are used to enter letters, numbers, and symbols. Other keys include the function keys, which are used to control the system, and the navigation keys, which are used to move the cursor around the screen.
The keyboard is also used for gaming, as well as for other specialized tasks. For example, some keyboards have additional keys for controlling media players or other software. Additionally, gaming keyboards often have additional keys for controlling special functions in games, such as macros.
In addition to the physical keys, keyboards also typically have additional features. For example, many keyboards have a built-in touchpad or trackball for cursor control. Additionally, some keyboards have additional ports for connecting external devices, such as a mouse or game controller.
