LUMINANCE

Luminance is a measure of the radiant energy emitted by a surface and is defined as the amount of visible light emitted per unit area of source in a given direction. It is a measure of the amount of light emitted from a surface and is expressed in candela per square meter (cd/m2) (Cheng & Li, 2017). Luminance is an important factor in the evaluation of the visibility of objects and is used to measure the brightness of a surface.

The luminance meter is typically used to measure the luminance of a display or television screen and is also used to measure the amount of light that is reflected off of walls and ceilings.

In conclusion, luminance is an important measure of the amount of visible light that is emitted from a surface and is used to measure the visibility of objects. It is also used to measure the amount of light that is reflected off of a surface and the intensity of artificial lighting. By using a photometer or luminance meter, the luminance of a surface can be accurately measured and evaluated.
