noun. 1. with regard to biology, the condition of possessing many physical or behavioral kinds within a species or populace. 2. with regard to genetics, the existence in a populace of at least two variants of a gene.

POLYMORPHISM: “It would appear that polymorphism took place sometime while the child was inutero.”
