Nutmeg has volatile oils consisting of myristicin, elemecin, and other active components which, in high enough doses, generate inebriating impacts, some of them have been compared to those generated by marijuana. In greater doses though, is toxic- stymptoms of poisoning consist of irregularly dilated or contracted pupils, visual delusions, extreme nausea and throwing up, and swift heartbeats.
