CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE

n. a class of diseases which cause an abnormal function in the heart and blood vessels. The most common examples include hypertension, arteriosclerosis, rheumatic heart disease, and coronary heart disease. They may also result in hospitalization such as in congestive heart failure and myocardial infarction.
